2015 Spring Camp Report
We entertained 20 kids in need of a holiday aged 7-10 years old on our Spring Camp (3-5 October) with 7 leaders helping out. We did lots of exciting activities and enjoyed some warm weather!
We spent half a day at Greenhills Adventure Park where the kids were the bosses and got to decide what activities they were going to do. Everyone had fun getting lost in the maze. We raced each down the dry slides. We tore around the track on four-wheel pedal karts. We zipped along the flying fox. We sped around the lake on the paddle boats and aqua bikes. We tried our hand at archery. We kept score at mini-golf. Finally, and certainly not least, we had lots of fun going down the waterslides! The fun didn’t stop back at the campsite! We tried our hand at sand art and painted frames for our beautiful creations. We had a bonfire and toasted marshmallows as big as our fists!
We watched movies in the Rec Hut. We made funny faces made out of biscuits, lollies and icing. We had plenty of turns on the bikes. We also walked down to the local playground and had a treasure hunt. Thanks to all the leaders who helped out on the camp, it was a big effort with fewer of us than usual, but we pulled through and made it work! Thanks to Alice Ramsey, Taylor Petty, Aaron Desmet, Claire Langsford and Matt Cooper. Thanks also to Dean from Genesis Tour and Charter for getting us safely there and back again. Thanks to Jessica Halligan for organising things before camp – we missed you on camp!
Cheers, Patrick and Daniel Directors of Youth Services
