Welcome!
This is the home page for the Toc H Movement in South Australia. Toc H SA is the principal centre of Toc H Australia Southern Region.
We are a part of a worldwide organisation that has been providing services to South Australians for over 80 years. Aside from the many and various activities undertaken by Toc H branches support their community, Toc H is involved in several programmes in South Australia.
Toc H uses the model of the compass to emphasise four personal challenges which are the inspiration for its membership. The four points of the Toc H compass are:
- Service: 'To Build Bravely' - To give personal service
- Friendship: 'To Love Widely' - To welcome all in friendship
- Fairmindedness: 'To Think Fairly' - To always listen to the views of others
- The Kingdom of God: 'To Witness Humbly' - To acknowledge the spiritual nature of all people
The protection of the people in our care is of utmost importance to Toc H. Please refer to our Child Protection Policy for more details.
A main focus of Toc H as a whole in South Australia is the campsite at Victor Harbor.
For the past 70 years, Toc HSouth Australia has provided camping programs for children with disabilities and children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our camps notonly provide families with much needed respite, but just as importantly, provide children between 7 and 11 years with the chance to engage in activities that they would otherwise not have the chance to experience. The children who attend our camps have experienced or continue to experience extreme hardship. They are referred to us by agencies such as Anglicare, Families SA, and schools in areas where children have special needs.
Toc H in South Australia is developing a network of Toc H youth volunteers – many of whom are associated with Toc H activities in secondary schools.
Each year, Toc H makes a presentation of books to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the Repatriation Hospital. These books are placed on the steps of the War Memorial during the Dawn Service on Anzac Day, as a respectful yet useful reminder of the sacrifices made by our services personnel over the past 90+ years.
